About GCLI
Global Collaborative Learning Initiative (GCLI) is the professional and scholarly community that develops and sustains online international collaborative learning. It operates OISC and OISE as online learning platforms where students, educators, and partner classrooms can engage in meaningful exchange across borders.
GCLI also creates a forum for the work and evidence that emerge from those experiences. Through conferences, research forums, and practice-based publication, educators and researchers can share findings, examine classroom practice, and carry learning from OISC and OISE into future international collaboration.

One initiative, two layers of work
GCLI brings students into international collaboration through OISC and OISE, then supports the field through professional exchange and research.
Active Learning Across Borders, Online.
Two distinct online pathways where students learn with international peers through purposeful exchange.
Online International Student Conference brings classes into a shared online experience where students prepare, present, discuss, and learn from one another across borders.
Online International Student Exchange creates student collaboration through Virtual Exchange and COIL. It supports educators in finding compatible partner classrooms by considering calendars, duration, time zones, class size, CEFR range, and learning goals from the start.
GCLI Membership
Regular Membership connects the platform, professional community, and programme access. Student Membership gives undergraduate and graduate students a GCLI profile and a route into relevant learning and community opportunities; programme access remains role-dependent. Supporting Members sustain GCLI's development and are recognised through linked website and event acknowledgements, with opportunities to participate in Professional Community meetings as Supporting Members. Supporting Membership does not by itself include programme-management access.
